Villa Adriana
Villa Adriana, the most beautiful Imperial villa, designed and built by Emperor Hadrian who did not like the Palatine palace in Rome, so during the last years of his reign he ruled the empire from Tivoli. Truly no emperor appreciated the palace created by his predecessors so much, but Hadrian detested the crowding, promiscuity, intrigue and chaos of Rome, where he resided as little as possible, traveling as much as possible.

Great tour. Fabio taught us so much about the history of both Villas. He tailored the tour, as much as he could, to my husband’s disability. Driver was great.

Natalia was our driver and she was welcoming, courteous and drove smoothly. Monica was our guide and her knowledge was exemplary. She did not rush us, loved her topic, answered any questions and engaged us in conversation. The tour was a fantastic break from Rome's business and complemented many of it's attractions adding to our understanding of Roman history. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing time visiting these place. Our driver was prompt at picking us up from our hotel. Very comfortable 4-door mid-sized sedan car as well—perfect for 2 in the backseat (having 3 people would of been tight. If that is your case, as for a bigger car). The tour guide accompanied us in the car, pointing out a few interesting details as we were leaving Rome. It is about 30 minutes outside of Rome but can be longer depending on traffic. The guide was VERY informative and really had a passion about the information he was telling us. We never felt rushed—in fact we went over the estimate tour time because we took our time enjoying the sites. We stopped for an afagato in between the 2 sites and that was perfect. It is a lot of walking and steps so be mindful about shoes. Also bring water and I would suggest a sun umbrella for shade as well.

Giuliano was a wealth of information and a very pleasant gentleman. He gave his thorough and traditional talks, but also had prompt answers to all of our questions. His passion for archeology, history and art was refreshing and we learned so much from him.
