Unreliable Tour – Left Stranded and Refused Refund

Extremely disappointing experience. The tour guide never showed up at the designated meeting point. I arrived at least 10 minutes early and waited for over 20 minutes at the exact location provided in the tour instructions. No one appeared. Later, the guide—who was not a local—sent a photo from an unknown location claiming he was waiting for the group. Just two minutes later, he messaged again saying he couldn’t wait any longer and was leaving without me. I requested a refund, but both the guide and Viator refused. I even provided Viator with screenshots of the listed meeting location and where I was standing, but they repeatedly denied the request. As a result, I missed the tour and it ruined my entire evening. This experience left me anxious about joining any future “meet-up” style tours, as it made me question the reliability of the information provided. I had even reached out to the tour operator a week prior, sending a Google Maps screenshot to confirm the meeting point. Unfortunately, they never responded. I showed up at the location listed in the tour details, but due to the lack of communication and last-minute messages from the guide, I missed the tour entirely.

Great walking and bus tour from start to finish! There were 3 English speaking tour guides for the 4 of us in our group, plus a driver so we got plenty of attention and very personalized tour starting from Ueno park and ending at Shinjuku. We hit all the city highlights, food places, famous and hidden sites, and ended up in karaoke club where we sang and drank for 45 minutes. Everything is included, but the optional tip at the end. It was more than we expected! Thank you Ethan, Thomas, and Pastor! You guys were amazing!
