Piazza del Popolo
One of the most famous squares in Rome, historically the main entrance to the city for those arriving from the north. In the center stands an ancient Egyptian obelisk, brought to Rome by Emperor Augustus. The square is framed by the twin churches, Santa Maria in Montesanto and Santa Maria dei Miracoli, creating a perfect effect of symmetry. From above, the Pincio offers a spectacular panoramic view of the city.
Trevi Fountain
The Trevi Fountain is one of the most famous fountains in the world and a masterpiece of Baroque. Designed DA Nicola Salvi in the 18th century, it depicts the god Ocean on a shell-shaped cart, pulled DA sea horses. According to tradition, throwing a coin into the fountain with his right hand over his left shoulder, ensures his return to Rome. Every day, thousands of visitors participate in this ritual, contributing to the city's charitable works.

Our tour was supposed to be afternoon vespa sidecar at 4:30 pm. On the same day of the tour, at 3:45 p.m., we received a call from the tour operator informing us that the Vespa assigned to us had broken down. We were quite surprised, since when we asked how many Vespas they had, they said 42! They offered to switch us to a golf cart tour, but we insisted on the Vespa experience because we had booked it well in advance. I asked if they could at least assign us three separate Vespas, since there were three of us, but they said they didn’t have enough drivers. They also offered to move our tour to 8 p.m., which was too late for us. This was supposed to be a special closing activity for our trip to Rome with my 13-year-old nephew, and instead we ended up adjusting to whatever option they decided to give us. In the end, we accepted the golf cart tour, but it lasted only 1.5 hours instead of the 3 hours we had originally booked—and no clear explanation was provided. We went ahead simply because we had no other plans for that time anymore. Our driver had no idea about what had happened or what route was planned for us. I specifically asked him to at least include the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and the Bocca della Verità, and he kindly did his best, but it was clear that there was no defined plan for our tour. The experience felt completely improvised, without structure or coordination, and even the usual gelato stop was skipped because of the reduced tour length. They offered to refund the difference for the shorter duration, but honestly, at that point I told them I no longer trusted their promises. What was most disappointing is that they demand 24 hours’ notice if a client needs to cancel, yet they felt entitled to cancel on us just one hour before our scheduled time. If they had notified us earlier, we could have booked another tour. Overall, a very unpleasant experience that left us questioning their professionalism and reliability. Thankfully, we decided to keep our spirits up and close our Roman adventure with optimism—singing “Felicità” as a reminder to find joy even in the unexpected.

We had a great experience at the Vespa tour with side car. Matteo was our tour guide and kept us entertained with his historical facts, stories and customized our stops in accordance to what we wanted to see since we had been in Rome for 3 days already and seen some sites. It felt like getting a tour from a friend. 5 stars for Matteo.
