Cairns Aquarium is an exciting, new all-weather visitor attraction located in the heart of Cairns, open daily. Guests of all ages will have guaranteed interaction with the spectacular beauty of over 16,000 marine and land animals from two World Heritage listed areas; the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest. Follow the journey from the river to the reef to enjoy daily animal and eco-system talks, a ray and shark feeding show and a hands on experience at the marine touch pool.

What To Expect
Cairns Aquarium
Follow the journey of a drop of rain as it travels from creeks and streams, into the rivers and down the tropical mountain range, through ancient rainforest to coastal mangroves before finally crossing the world’s largest coral reef, The Great Barrier Reef and entering the depths of the Coral Sea. Come face to face with over 15,000 animals, see live coral displays, diver shark feeds, marine and reptile touch tanks and enjoy informative, ecologist talks. Discover 70 different habitats showcasing the stunning diversity of the species found in the rainforest and the reef, some of which are rarely seen in the wild. Stand inches from sharks and stingrays, giant endangered sawfish, turtles, pythons and a kaleidoscope of tropical fish in the largest oceanarium in Queensland and the only Deep Reef tank in Australia. 4.00It was great very informative and not crowed at all, not rushed we were able to take our time! Went for lunch next door but they finish serving at 2:30pm so they told us - a little disappointed I have to say but the Aquarium well worth the money - thank you - you didn’t disappoint!

5.00Great experience, very well designed, easy to navigate around the aquarium. Staff friendly and helpful. While I was there a lot of young children and their families really enjoying the experience and was so refreshing to see interaction between children and parents without the reliance of a mobile device to entertain apart from being used to take photos. I would highly recommend to add to your 'to do' list when in Cairns. It will take around an an hour if you stop to read and look at the marine life.
