A mandatory airport grade security screening is conducted prior to boarding the ferry. This means no open containers, alcohol, weapons, large bags, luggage or scooters are allowed.

Due to local regulations, the Statue of Liberty Museum, Ellis Island, and the Ellis Island Immigration Museum may not be open on the date of your visit

The tour starts and ends here, and for some options there is a brief tour of Battery Park & pre-ferry orientation to make the most of your time on Ellis Island - especially if choosing the option with Self-Guided Audio Tours
Liberty Island
Go through TSA and board the ferry to Liberty Island. If the Standard Ticket or Pre-FGerry tour options were chosen, you pick up your multilingual audio guide for Liberty Island at the kiosk once you get off the ferry & spend time touring the island with the audio guide. If guided tour options were chosen, the guide will give you a guided tour of the island in English, show you the best spots to take photos of the Statue of Liberty and give you some free time to explore.

1.00This was possibly the worst part of our trip. We had a difficult time finding our guide. The only direction we were given was to stand in front of Starbucks. There were other groups there and we almost left with the wrong group because our guide didn’t really clarify who needed to go where. We couldn’t hear the guide for most of the instructions because it was loud around us. When we got to our first stop he told us to meet back at 2:10, but when we got there he was nowhere to be found. There were two other families in the group that got left behind as well. When I called to see what was going on they said they could not get in touch with our guide and we would have to find our own way back. When I tried to get more information they hung up on me. We were so frustrated and exhausted after trying to figure everything out that we didn’t even go to Ellis Island even though we paid for both. It was a truly horrendous experience and the worst part is that it was my kids first time to the Statue of Liberty and it was very disappointing.

5.00Our tour guide Vivian was very cheerful and told us important details about every site that we visited and gave us plenty of time to explore them. The last site visited was the 9/11 Memorial where it was just me and wife with Vivian. Vivian explained some cool details about some historic buildings along the way from Battery Park to the 9/11 Memorial and even gave us time to have lunch at a famous bagel store in NYC. Highly recommended package for first-timers to the area!

5.00You need to protect yourself from the sun in the summer and be careful. Find out about the museums' opening hours in advance and buy a full service package. This way you can save time and see more. Very nice guide.
