What To Expect
Royal Palace of Madrid
This historical site is today the official residence of the Spanish Monarchy and is also closely related to the origin of Madrid. The staircase used by noblemen in the 18th century and ambassadors nowadays, will lead us to 25 rooms with impressive frescoes, sculptures, chandeliers, tapestries, furniture, ceramics, royal family portraits and other sumptuous decoration. Meanwhile we will discover some of the most remarkable events in Spanish history, understand the life of a 18th century royal family and get to know some of the most interesting anecdotes kept within its walls.

Nico is the ideal guide to truly appreciate the history, art, and architecture of this magnificent palace. The semi-private setting allowed Nico to deliver an intimate, engaging experience. He brought centuries of Spanish history to life with fascinating royal stories and thoughtfully tailored information. His use of a tablet for visual aids, like historical photos and diagrams, was a brilliant touch that deeply enriched the narrative and provided vital context. We especially appreciated his patience and willingness to answer all our questions. This was a fantastic tour led by a passionate and knowledgeable expert.

5.00Nico was fantastic. His knowledge, kindness and communication (pre-arrival) were all outstanding. We definitely recommend the small group experience as it allows the opportunity to ask questions and interact directly. The palace is a real wonder and we enjoyed it much better than our visit to Buckingham last year. Nico took the time to help us understand the lineage of the monarchy and had an iPad to show as additional pictures of the King utilizing the rooms we visited for different responsibilities. Very enjoyable - thank you Nico!

5.00We walked into the Royal Palace of Madrid not knowing anything about the history, and we walked out almost history majors lol! The tour was extremely informative, but not in a boring, school class kind of way- no, it was full of fun facts. Mainly because our tour guide, Nico, was amazing! He made the experience interesting, he had a great sense of humor, he used visual aids, he had a vast knowledge of things beyond the royal palace, and he engaged our top interests, asking us at the beginning of the tour what we search/value the most: history, interior design, architecture, mythology, etc. He was also very accommodating-- we arrived at the venue 15 minutes late due to issues w/transportation, but Nico was extremely patient & was able to adjust the tour time. I hope the next time someone books this tour, they request specifically for Nico as their guide! As for the Royal Palace-- hands down my favorite palace in all of Europe (not to mention it is the biggest!).

5.00Nico was a fabulous tour guide. He provided interesting historical facts. He had a vast knowledge of the sculptures, silks on the walls to the frescoes throughout the Palace. He included some interesting visuals from his iPad that added to the tour. We really enjoyed the tour.
