Lake Kawaguchiko
Lake Kawaguchi Matcha Experience (about 60 minutes) Lake Kawaguchi is the lake with the longest shoreline among the Fuji Five Lakes. It is one of the Fuji Five Lakes. The cherry blossoms in spring, tulips in summer, and red leaves in autumn make the area change with different styles according to the seasons. Part of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. It is the lake with the longest coastline and the lowest elevation among the Fuji Five Lakes. You can freely wander along the shores of Lake Kawaguchi and enjoy the scenery of Mount Fuji. Add a matcha experience here, experience making matcha with a local teacher, drink a cup, and experience real Japanese culture. After your matcha experience, I suggest you leave the matcha shop and head to Lake Kawaguchi to take photos of the stunning Mount Fuji.

The whole tour was a sham. I booked an English tour but this tour was in mostly in Japanese. At each location you would get roughly 30 minutes. To see Mt Fuji they take to Lawsons where the store blocks the view. Very misleading and a money grab. Don’t waste your time and money find a real tour company that actually takes you to see Mt Fuji and explain things.

The trip was marred by delays caused by holiday traffic. No fault of the organisers but perhaps an earlier departure time could’ve helped. The schedule was moved around as well, with the ropeway cable car now coming last. The matcha tasting session felt a bit rushed, as was the visit to the Oshima springs, but that was all due to the delay. Lunch, at extra cost, was simple but fine. The real star was tour guide Erina. She provided lots of info, managed to get everything done and made everyone feel at ease. A most fortunate event happened on the way back to Tokyo when suddenly Mount Fuji, shrouded in clouds all day, decided to unveil its splendour to the delight of Erina and all her guests. That eliminated all the ill feelings they might have had for the rest of the day.

This was a great experience! Our guide was friendly and took the best photos, she really got my angles (priceless to a solo traveler lol). Our driver was great too and got us back to Tokyo safely. Don’t hesitate to book with them!

Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful time. The mountain was fully visible and every location gave us an amazing view. Our tour guide Sawaki was very personable and friendly and made sure everyone felt welcomed and taken care of. He also spoke three languages fluently which was very cool. Thank you Sawaki!
