We headed out early and it was gray and raining. Our guide told us Mt Fuji was only visible a hundred days a year. The drive out was very pretty through the country side with the autumn colours starting to appear. First stop was making tea at Oshi Park. No Mt Fuji but the park was pretty with maple trees being shades of red and orange and yellow. Then a bit of lunch, and the Cable Car. This was a completed surprise, the volcano to was peeking out surrounded by cloud! It was visible for about 10 minutes then completely swamped again. The mountain is huge and so much closer than we expected. The afternoon was a game of peek a boo as the mountain appeared and disappeared several more times as we stopped at Oshino hakkai where we could fill out bottles with the sweet Mt Fuji spring water. I have no idea if it's true but seeing the mountain from various locations while having the bus take us around made it easy and worthwhile. My only criticism was that our guide was not a local and I missed having a guide that could tell us lots of local history. My previous Trip Advisor guides have been local and have always been full of local tradition and stories. Not the case here.

I am writing this although we did not take this tour, with much regrets. We decided to take a private car and did not get to do half of this for double the money. This itinerary takes you to the most important places, especially the ropeway. Do NOT book a private car.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this tour was poorly managed from start to finish. The meeting point was chaotic, with several groups from the same operator holding identical flags — making it very easy to end up in the wrong tour. More importantly, our guide provided almost no information about the itinerary or the sites we visited. At our first stop, we had no idea what we were there to see; the only instruction given was what time to return to the bus. Throughout the day, there was little to no commentary or context about the attractions. By the end of the trip, we came home with plenty of photos of Mt. Fuji but no real understanding of its history or significance. I expected a more organized and informative experience from this operator.

Christy the tour guide made the whole day so much more fun, also a shout out to the bus driver for getting us there and back in crazy traffic. We were lucky to have clear skies for awesome shots of mt Fuji. The kawaguchi ropeway and matcha tea ceremony were a highlight of the trip.

Host very nice, was a shame there was some cloud over Mount Fugi but I liked the Japanese gardens. At the meeting point I arrived 30 min early and there was many yellow flags it was difficult to find my guide. It does feel slightly rush you don't get long enough to see each site but by the end of the day you are quite tired so maybe it's best that way otherwise it's a long day. I booked the evening before. However the girl next to me booked on another site and it was £30 cheaper which was abit disappointing. The food though provided was really good... I would have breakfast before you go as we ate around 1.30pm. I think for a really good view you need to be at the Mount Fugi very early, earlier than the tour in my opinion

We arrived early, the tour guide arrived late and told us we weren’t on the list. I showed her our confirmation and our booking info and she said you’re not in the list. She asked our name 4 times and when I told her she kept saying “No, your name” until I said yes “Yes that is our name, that is why I’m saying it”. She said no you’re not on the list, the.called her boss who did not answer. She did eventually let us on the bus, where she spoke in Chinese for 25 minutes over the loud crackly bus speaker, seemingly without taking a breath. She then spoke in 25 minutes in English which was equally annoying. It was a wet cold day, so Mount Fuji was completely hidden by cloud, so the trip was mostly going from one tourist trap shop to another. We were told we would have a ten minute tea ceremony, which lasted about 5 minutes and consisted of a tiny amount of matcha tea, the given 20 minutes to shop in an overpriced store. The garden was nice, though the ice cream shop was again an overpriced tourist trap, and the village was beautiful and very nice to walk through and we would have preferred more time there than being driven to shops. The lunch was on but over priced, and driving to the convenience store in a day without seeing the mountain seemed pointless. Overall, we felt quite annoyed by the tour and the tourist trap stores. Perhaps we would have forgiven this if we saw the mountain, but we were glad when it was over. We would not recommend this tour to any one.

I’ve used Viator tours before and it was always great. Our recent tour due to heavy traffic and was beyond control of bus driver/guide had us rushing through each event which made it difficult to enjoy each attraction. The itinerary was great otherwise.
